Overall

CloneDVD is a good choice for audio and videophiles who don't mind splitting a DVD up to 2 discs in order to get an exact copy. Most users, however, prefer to shrink a DVD to fit on a single disc, which is not supported using CloneDVD. 


Installation

CloneDVD was easy to install and we did not encounter any issues.


Ease Of Use

CloneDVD is easy to use. The CSS decryptor is built-in so you just insert an original, insert a blank, and start the copy.

CSS Copy Protection Removal

Support for removing the copy protection on commercial DVDs is built-in. While this is good from an installation and use perspective, it may be a risk if they are forced to remove it later (see DVDXCopy Lawsuit)


Quality

Excellent. Since CloneDVD does not compress the copy, the audio and video are exactly the same as the original. The menus and bonus materials are also copied.

The email support offered with a 1-2 business day turnaround.


Limitations

CloneDVD is unable to compress a DVD-9 to a single disc.
