New Standalone DVD Copy Version
Update: 8/4/04 - DVD Wizard Pro now includes an easy to use DVD copy program (before it was just a great tutorial/guide). If you passed on them in the past then it is time to look again. In addition to the new DVD copy program (which is very good ... but not quite as good as 1Click-DVD-Copy and DVD Cloner II), it has several extras that the others don't include. As a total package it is a very respectable runner up and a little cheaper.
Bottom Line: If you want the nuts and bolts and extra stuff (ex. copy games) then get DVD Wizard Pro. If you just plan to make DVD-to-DVD copies then get 1Click-DVD-Copy which has the hands down best support and is only $20 more.

NOTE: Below is our review of DVD Wizard Pro BEFORE it included a standalone DVD copy program. We have upgraded the rating from 3 stars to 5 stars and moved it into the number 2 spot (bumping down DVD Cloner II which we downgraded due to reports of poor support). We have not updated the rest of this review page (coming soon).
Important Note: DVD Wizard Pro is a GUIDE / TUTORIAL. It is NOT a standalone software program. Please do not compare it with One Click DVD Copy (Editor's Choice) as they are not in the same class and will appeal to different types of buyers.
Overall
DVD Wizard Pro is an excellent step-by-step guide covering over 30 freeware and shareware programs. The instructions are very detailed and include extensive screenshots. We gave it 3 stars because it really depends on your needs and experience level. For the intended target audience it is a 5 star guide, however, those looking for an easy one click backup will rank this as 1 star.
Layout
An easy to follow task-oriented layout is used. Here is a peek at the table of contents and what you will learn.

When you select a task from the list above you will be taken to a detailed guide of that process. The layout of the each process is easy to follow and includes the following sections:
- Hardware Requirements (ex. DVD drive, CD writer, minimum hard drive space)
- Software Requirements (with download links)
- Process Overview
- Detailed Instructions (with screenshots)
Installation
The installation of DVD Wizard Pro (an ebook) is a breeze. It is a 13.5 MB download (large size is due to extensive screenshots). You do NOT need to reboot after installing and desktop icons will be created.
The setup programs for each tool used in the processes above are easy to access from the 'Software Requirements' links in each process section.
Ease Of Use
As you can see from the Table Of Contents above, DVD Wizard Pro covers a lot of ground. Some of these processes and tools are complicated and require multiple steps. If want to learn the nitty gritty details then DVD Wizard Pro is the survival guide for you.
However, if your goal is simply to make easy quick backups of your DVD movie collection then you should consider One Click DVD Copy instead.
CSS Copy Protection Removal
The processes covered include removing the copy protection on commercial DVDs.
Quality
You can obtain excellent quality copies using these instructions. Also you can backup to CDs, which results in a lower quality copy but is a viable option for anyone who does not have a DVD burner.
Support
Support for DVD Wizard Pro is offered by email with a 1-day turnaround.
